Getting Started

Here we go! I'm leaving the US for the next year or so. I set up this blog to track my progress. At this point, I'm preparing to set sail from San Diego with Matt and Joaquin on a 36' Catalina sailboat headed for Panama.

On this blog, I'm hoping to post SPOT links, from a satellite transmitter, which will allow everyone to view my location on Google Earth. For a preview, here is a link for my starting location at my house:

    i count 4 beer cans, 2 packs of p-funks, a bag of chips and a cup of coffee. looks like you guys are well supplied!

    Looks like the trip of a lifetime, wish I was with you. This is something you'll never forget. I sailed across the Pacific in 89 and it seems like yesterday. Keep posting the pic's the're great! Regards from "family" in Chicago. Barry
