Cahuita Sloth Sanctuary

Yesterday I went to a sloth sanctuary just outside of Cahuita. The center has over 130 sloths in captivity, sloths that have been rescued, treated and were unable to be released into the wild for various reasons. The place was awesome and I got to see both adult and baby sloths (and yes the babies are adorable). I also went on a tour of the creeks on the property in a canoe and got to see lots of wildlife. Today I spotted a sloth in the wild, but it just wasnt the same as being able to touch and hold them.
This is Buttercup, the first sloth at the sanctuary. She gets lots of attention and is very friendly.
The baby sloth here is a two fingered sloth. Like Buttercup above.

This one is just a few months old.My canoe trip through the creeks. This is a basilisk lizard. Hard to spot in green backgrounds, but popped right out here.
