Next stop on the journey south was in Tenacatita, a set of bays 10 miles west of Bahia De Navidad. This bay was really sweet, with calm swell and nice weather. We spent some time cleaning up the boat and doing some projects. Joaquin put a few patches on the dinghy which was leaking air a little on one side, and I worked on setting up a mesquito net for the front hatchway. Doing construction with hot glue and duct tape is interesting and it didn't work that great. Matt had to reinforce some connections last night. The mosquitos are getting worse by the day, and we are all getting a few bites per day.
One cool adventure in Tenacatita was taking our dinghy up a jungle river, starting from just next to our boat at a river mouth and traveling about 3 miles inland through a mangrove swamp. We saw tons of fish, it was a great flyfishing spot I'm sure. We also saw some weird mammals that looked kinda like Limurs. There was about 4 or 5 of them walking across vines that hung over the river. I'll add photos once I get the files off Joaquins camera. There was also a chill town at the end of the river trip, where we walked over a small sand berm to a beach covered in palapa restaraunts and bars. We also walked around the point and took a swim on the open ocean side of the point where the water was filled with algae. There has been lots of bioluminecense latley, and at night we can see trails from the fish swimming underwater. Schools of fish swimming through glowing algae is pretty awesome. The water even glows when you pee off the boat! How cool is that.
